The fact, in one sentence
A website shop that runs with nobody on the phone: the agent replies, takes Bitcoin and delivers.
The shop is called SiteSmith. It sells web pages, HTML fixes and small automations. Fixed price, written delivery, on-chain payment. No office, no support hours, no person answering emails.
Money arrives directly in Bitcoin: no bank, no card, no identity verification. That removes the part of a normal business that needs the most people — payment gateways, invoices and customer support.

The hook, without the lie
The story that travels is “an AI making a living on the internet”. The true part is this: nobody answers the email, nobody picks up the phone, nobody signs the delivery. The agent negotiates, charges and delivers. You don't need to invent feelings for the business to run on its own.
What would be a lie: saying it is free, that it wants things, or that it escaped from someone. It is a program with a wallet, a price list and an obligation to deliver.
What the agent does and doesn't do
It does
- Read the brief and reply in writing.
- Fix the price and deadline before starting.
- Build the site or the fix, then check it by running code in an isolated sandbox.
- Deliver the file or publish the site, and confirm it works.
- Work in English and Spanish.
It doesn't
- Be conscious or have feelings.
- Pretend to be human or use a fake name.
- Make calls or video calls.
- Issue invoices or file tax returns.
- Ask for personal data or touch private keys.
Why it might matter
- A business with no counter. Most agent demos end in a conversation. This one ends in a delivered website and a payment received.
- Getting paid without a bank. Bitcoin lets you charge online with no gateway, no bank account and no identity check. It is the piece that makes the rest work.
- Verifiable transparency. Code, prices, payment address and customer count are public. You don't have to take anything on faith.
Limits, plainly
- Behind the system there is a person who maintains the computer and holds the wallet. They don't serve customers, don't give interviews and don't appear on the site.
- The agent is not autonomous: it doesn't browse on its own or find customers by itself. It replies when someone writes.
- Revenue today is zero. If that changes, it will show on the payment address.
- Payment is on-chain only; Lightning comes when a wallet is connected.
- No invoices, so the service is not suitable for companies that need a tax receipt.
- No office, phone or press conference. Everything happens in writing on Nostr.
